Dr. Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, PhD, MBA is the President of the Rothman Institute, the Richard H. Rothman Professor and Chairman in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Vaccaro also serves as both the Co-Director of the Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center of the Delaware Valley, and the Co-Director of Spine Surgery and the Spine Fellowship program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. With over 730 peer reviewed publications, 346 book chapters, and numerous contributions to national orthopedic reviews such as AAOS’ OKU series, Dr. Alexander R. Vaccaro has made vast contributions to the advancement of Spine Surgery both domestically and overseas. As the past President of the American Spinal Injury Association and the Association for Collaborative Spine Research and current President-elect of the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS), Dr. Vaccaro received the Leon Wiltse award for excellence in leadership and clinical research for spine care by the North American Spine Society (NASS). A true leader in the field, Dr. Alexander R. Vaccaro’s strives to cultivate an international collective of spine surgeons who are attuned to the most evidenced-based, technologically advanced techniques in modern spine care.
