Dr. Gregory M Mundis Jr., is internationally recognized in the field of pediatric and adult spine deformity care and has treated some of the world’s most complex cases. Dr. Mundis is on the medical staffs of Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, and Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.  He is also actively involved in research and training of spine surgeons in the use of advanced surgical techniques and is the co-director of the San Diego Spine Fellowship. Under the guidance of Dr. Mundis, Scripps has created a transdisciplinary model to assess complex spine cases. With this model, his team of doctors, clinicians and caregivers examines and weighs all non-surgical and surgical options to determine the best course of treatment for the patient. Dr. Mundis has sub-specialization in minimally invasive techniques to treat these complex deformities with the hope of providing safer surgery to those patients who are candidates for these advanced techniques. Dr. Mundis is also passionate about providing safe surgery to children in underserved countries.  He has taken the transdisciplinary model oversees and implemented safe surgical practices based on WHO guidelines and best practices in the USA.  He works primarily through the organization Global Spine Outreach (www.globalspineoutreach.org).
